Bateke was born in the Congo, the heart of Africa, growing up with the musical influence of the native people of the ituri forest like the Pygmies!
at age of 5 , Bateke became interested in blowing an elephant tusk, in drumming and listening to hi father playing his native Bateke tribal guitar, this made him to be the saxophone player, singer, song writer and band leader is today.

He toured in various African countries ( Nigeria, Congo, Cameroun, Republic of Central Africa, Tchad, Equatorial Guinea...), where he worked for many years withlegendary musicians like hemry bowane, the father and founder of Rumba beat in the congo, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Tony Allen the founders of the Afro Beat, Bobby Benson, the High-Life legend...

Bateke has been performing for more than 50 years and his mission is to make people happy and dance to his unique songs and beats inspired by the spirit of his ancestors.
