At Winston’s Bartending Academy, the unique hands-on experience provided will teach you the necessary skills for efficiently setting up a bar and how to conduct effective business while satisfying a high volume of customers safely, legally and efficiently. Beyond learning the inner-workings behind the scenes, our academy will also teach you how to procure employment in the ever-changing fast-paced hospitality industry.
 
Our unique 4 weekend (Saturdays 12-4 pm) program will provide unique insight essential to anyone looking to begin working as a professional bartender regardless of skill level. After each session’s instructional segment and demonstration from experienced bartenders currently in the field, you’ll actually get the chance to show us what you’ve got from a behind-the-bar perspective when the bar opens for business. This means that between 1 and 4 pm, you will continue your training behind Winston’s bar during actual business hours by pouring cocktails and shots, tapping kegs and completing prompt transactions with everyday customers using our POS system (which most legitimate bars and restaurants use), amongst so many other things—all while being guided by our experienced staff, of course. In addition to this unique behind-the-bar education, we will also provide each graduate a letter of completion to add to your qualifications, a better understanding of how to secure a bartending position in a competitive field, unique editing insight into creating a masterful resume, how to maintain a job once in the field, valuable on-line links and information (like about LEAD and Food Handler cards), and a recommendation for future employment.
